Join our Lap Swim Stay Fit class, designed for swimmers of all levels looking to enhance their technique and improve overall fitness. Participants will benefit from hands-on coaching focused on all four swim strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Our experienced instructors provide personalized feedback to help refine your technique and boost your performance. With reserved lanes and dedicated practice times, you can swim at your own pace while receiving expert guidance. Whether you’re preparing for a competition or simply aiming to stay active, this class offers a supportive environment to achieve your swimming goals. Daily attendance is not required—join when it fits your schedule. Dive in and elevate your swim game today! Registration can be done either in person at the SRC or online! Our free community event, Storytime in the Gardens, is held on the 1st Sunday of the month from 10:00 - 10:30 am, January - October. Look for our docents in Alder Canyon or the Meeting Room who are eager to read aloud. No registration is required. Registration September 3, 12am - November 2, 4pm Lose yourself in the peaceful silence of the ocean, explore vibrant underwater sights, and make lasting memories with new dive buddies! This course provides everything you need to earn your internationally recognized Open Water Certification. Your certification journey includes: • Pre-class e-learning course + dive logbook app • Classroom review sessions • Pool sessions • 3 boat dives at Catalina Island • 1 beach dive • All SCUBA gear provided Transportation is not included, but carpooling is encouraged. To register, you must be able to attend all sessions. A 200m swim test and a 10-minute tread/float will be given during the class. Course cost is $615 for UCR students and $700 for non-students. 6 spots available. E-learning codes will be sent after signup and the online course must be completed before the first meeting day.
