Attendees will have the opportunity to make shadow boxes while learning the significance of Dia De Los Muertos as live cultural music is played. This program aims to foster a welcoming and safe space where students can de-stress and foster community. We are excited to share that Black Convocation is taking place at UC Riverside on October 22, 2026! Black Convocation is a fall gathering and community-building event to celebrate Black scholarship and community at UCR. Let There Be Light: The Observational Quest for the First Galaxies Presented by Richard Ellis Professor of Astrophysics University College London Recipient of the 2023 Gruber Prize in Cosmology Featuring introductory remarks by Chancellor Jack Hu and CNAS Dean Peter Atkinson. On behalf of the UCR Department of Physics & Astronomy and its new Center for Experimental Cosmology & Instrumentation (CECI), we would like to invite you to our next special event on the frontiers of cosmology. We will be hosting a reception on Friday, November 6th, at 5:00 pm to be followed by a public lecture by Dr. Richard Ellis, Professor of Astrophysics University College London and recipient of the 2023 Gruber Prize in Cosmology. The event is titled the "Frontiers of Cosmology Lecture: Let There Be Light: The Observational Quest for the First Galaxies." We would be honored if you are able to join us. Registration September 3, 12am - November 2, 4pm Lose yourself in the peaceful silence of the ocean, explore vibrant underwater sights, and make lasting memories with new dive buddies! This course provides everything you need to earn your internationally recognized Open Water Certification. Your certification journey includes: • Pre-class e-learning course + dive logbook app • Classroom review sessions • Pool sessions • 3 boat dives at Catalina Island • 1 beach dive • All SCUBA gear provided Transportation is not included, but carpooling is encouraged. To register, you must be able to attend all sessions. A 200m swim test and a 10-minute tread/float will be given during the class. Join our group 🚍🚏 The 2026 Annual Riverside Day of the Dead, presented by Division 9 Gallery, is a free, family friendly festival. The festival will on Saturday November 7th 1pm -10pm and Sunday November 8th 11am -7pm. Everyone UCR assscoated can use their R'Card to take the RTA buses for free throughout Riverside County.
